🧥 Who is Van Helsing?

Gabriel Van Helsing is a reimagined version of the vampire hunter from Bram Stoker's Dracula. In this film, he's a monster-slaying agent for the Vatican, battling evil creatures across the world. He suffers from amnesia, not remembering his past lives.

📖 Story Summary:

🔮 Prologue – Transylvania, 1887

The film opens with Dr. Victor Frankenstein creating his monster using the help of Count Dracula. Dracula then betrays and kills the doctor, aiming to use the monster to bring life to his undead children. The monster escapes with his creator’s body into a burning windmill.

🎩 Enter Gabriel Van Helsing

Van Helsing is a mysterious monster hunter working for a secret Vatican order. After killing Mr. Hyde in Paris, he is sent to Transylvania to help the Valerious family, who have spent generations trying to defeat Dracula and are now near extinction.

🧛 Dracula’s Evil Plan

Count Dracula lives in his icy castle with his three seductive brides. His plan? To use Frankenstein’s monster and his own werewolf slaves to bring life to thousands of his unborn vampire offspring, hanging like cocoons.

🏰 The Valerious Family

Van Helsing teams up with Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale), a brave warrior whose brother Velkan is bitten and turned into a werewolf. Anna's family believes they are cursed to wander purgatory unless Dracula is destroyed.

👹 Frankenstein’s Monster – Not the Enemy

Van Helsing discovers that Frankenstein’s Monster is not evil—he is intelligent, gentle, and doesn’t want to be used as Dracula’s key to activate his offspring. Van Helsing vows to protect him.

🐺 Van Helsing Becomes a Werewolf

Van Helsing is bitten by a werewolf. The Vatican reveals that only a werewolf can kill Dracula, who is otherwise immortal. But time is running out—after one full transformation, Van Helsing will lose control and become a beast forever.

⚔️ Final Battle – Castle Dracula

In the climactic battle:

  • Anna tries to save Van Helsing from transforming.

  • Dracula transforms into a giant bat demon, and Van Helsing into a werewolf.

  • The two clash in a brutal fight. In the end, Van Helsing kills Dracula, ending his reign of terror.


However, just after Dracula's death, Van Helsing accidentally kills Anna while still in werewolf form, unable to control himself.

  • Van Helsing cremates Anna’s body in a Viking funeral.

  • As her soul rises to heaven, she’s reunited with her family, finally at peace.
